About me
In 2020 Safa Malik certified as the first Functional Medicine Health Practitioner in Saudi Arabia and the second in the Middle East.
After the birth of her son with Down syndrome and Neuro-sensory hearing loss, Safa soon took an interest in 'root cause' medicine. She enrolled at the U.S. based Institute of Functional Medicine to study with world renowned doctors and specialists to better understand why illness occurs and how to restore a person to optimal health.
As a ‘Professional Mother’ of a child with Down Syndrome, Safa is using the Functional Medicine approach to raise the ceiling for her son and support him to achieve his God given potential.
She has also studied Classical Homeopathy with world-renowned teacher and author Dr George Vithoulkas. Before moving to Saudi, Safa graduated as an Optometrist and worked for a decade specialising in Diabetic Retinopathy and Keratoconus.
Safa will demonstrate how to be an 'out the box' thinker as a parent or health provider, and how supporting a child's individual biochemistry can accelerate therapies and IEP goals and achieve better social interactions.
Safa's vision is to establish inclusive schools with a personalised health care system and innovative therapies to ensure ‘no child is left behind’.
